Both major political parties need to wake up to the reality more Americans are political independents than are Republican or Democrat. According to a 2018 Gallup survey 29% of Americans identify as Democrat, 27% as Republican and an astonishing 42% as INEPENDENT. We also know many Americans who identify as members of a major party also have an independent streak and are common sense centrists within their party. Based on this knowledge, it is our belief that most Americans have agreed to meet in the middle, while the two major political parties have decided to go farther and farther to ideological extremes which has led to national tension and gridlock.
There are some elected officials throughout the country who govern based on common sense, not partisan extremes and there are many more individuals from the mindful middle running for public office. Unfortunately, barriers are high for candidates not affiliated with one of the major parties and once elected, independents and those members of the two major parties who are willing to meet in the middle are often berated and shunned. That's where we come in.

MiddlePAC's mission is to help elect independent candidates to public office at all levels of government throughout the country and to support those men and women of any political party who are already elected, but have a proven track record of working across party lines to get things done. There are no big special interest groups running ads or supporting independents and no heavy handed party bosses pushing resources to elected officials who buck the party line for the good of the country. These candidates and public servants need grassroots support from people like us who believe we are better and stronger as a country when we put aside petty partisan bickering and MEET IN THE MIDDLE to do what is best for our country.
